If you're headed outside the U.S.A. we recommend Atlas Medical Insurance. The fact is that most of the time, anglers will never need travel insurance or rescue-evacucation insurance, the reality is that every once in a while, someone will. If you are the one who needs it, you'll find it to be one of the best investments you ever made.
FYI: Credit card coverage for trip cancellation and interruption is highly limited. In fact, only 15% provide built-in cancellation and even then only reimburse for death, injury or illness or supplier default, Credit cards normally do not reimburse consumers in cases of travel delay and Credit cards usually do not cover medical transportation or evacuation.
